Homework: Basic Information and Policy
Reading
- Students will be asked to spend 20 minutes per night reading. There will be no reading log or recording requirement, please help your student develop this habit or learn how to use a timer to ensure they are meeting this expectation.
- Students will be expected to take one AR test per week, on either a fiction or nonfiction book. There are no exceptions to this policy. Students who are reading a lengthy chapter book are NOT expected to rush and finish it within a week, but may simply spend one night or classroom reading time reading a shorter informational text to AR test on that week.
Spelling
- Students will be given a list of words on Friday that they will test on the following Friday. There is no designated spelling homework to be collected, but students are expected to practice these words throughout the week at home.
Math
- Daily Multiplication fact practice for 5-10 minutes (see multiplication tab for more information)
- One Practice Page a night (unless we are testing) this page should take no longer than 15 minutes. Students are allowed to start it in class, if they finish their other work.
If math practice page takes longer than 15 minutes, please STOP and send me a message to let me know and I will work with your student the next morning.
